During septic system pumping, we always pump the tanks in full and then spray the walls of the tanks with a high-pressure nozzle. We always spray until we see the bottom of the tank to ensure it's completely clean. When possible, we will next remove the pump for cleaning. Finally, we test the floats, test the aerator, and add water to the tank where the aerator is located. Many septic service companies fail to complete this step, which causes problems with the aerator. We finish by checking the control box.
